Frequently asked questions

Everything about scan accuracy, supported sets, pricing data, and how GrailBinder works on iOS and Android. Can't find an answer? Email [email protected].

How accurate is the Pokémon card scanner?

GrailBinder identifies modern English Pokémon TCG cards from a single camera shot in typical lighting. Accuracy is highest on cards from Sword & Shield onward, and on current sets including Chaos Rising and Mega Evolution. Heavily worn, foil-glared, or non-flat cards may require a second attempt — angle the card slightly to reduce glare.

Which Pokémon TCG sets does GrailBinder support?

All modern English-language sets are covered, including current releases (Chaos Rising, Mega Evolution) and the full Scarlet & Violet and Sword & Shield blocks. Older WOTC-era sets (Base Set, Jungle, Fossil) are partially supported — print-run differences can make first-edition variants tricky to distinguish from unlimited prints automatically; we recommend confirming using the set symbol manually for vintage.

Where does GrailBinder get its card prices?

Live prices are pulled from TCGPlayer (US/CAD market) and CardMarket (EU market) and refreshed continuously. Each card shows the current market price plus 24-hour and 7-day trend indicators. We do not invent or model prices — every figure is sourced from an active marketplace.

Is GrailBinder free?

Yes. The core scanner, basic collection tracking, and live prices are free on iOS and Android. A Pro subscription ($4.99/month, $34.99/year, or $69.99 lifetime) unlocks unlimited scans, advanced collection analytics, multi-binder organization, and price history charts.

Does GrailBinder work on Japanese Pokémon cards?

Limited support today. The scanner can identify many Japanese cards by artwork match, but pricing data is currently English-market only. Full Japanese pricing (from Cardrush, Yuyu-tei, and similar sources) is on the roadmap — join the waitlist at grailbinder.com to be notified when it ships.

Can GrailBinder identify sealed Pokémon products?

Booster boxes, elite trainer boxes, and booster bundles can be added to your collection manually with current market prices, but the camera scanner is built for individual cards. Sealed-product barcode scanning is on the roadmap.

Does GrailBinder grade my cards (PSA / CGC / BGS)?

No. GrailBinder is not a grading service and does not estimate professional grades. We surface the raw market price and ungraded comps. For grade estimation, send your card to PSA, CGC, or BGS — see our guide at /guides/psa-vs-cgc-vs-bgs for an overview of the differences.

Is my collection data private?

Your collection is yours. Card scans run on-device or via secure backend endpoints that do not retain your photos. Collection data is stored in your account and never sold, traded, or shared with third parties. You can export or delete your collection at any time from in-app Settings.

How is GrailBinder different from Collectr or Ludex?

GrailBinder focuses on speed, pricing accuracy, and a binder-centric organization model. Compared to Collectr, GrailBinder pulls live TCGPlayer + CardMarket data instead of relying on internal estimates; compared to Ludex, GrailBinder is Pokémon-specialized rather than spreading across multiple TCGs. Full comparisons: /vs/collectr and /vs/ludex.

Who builds GrailBinder?

GrailBinder is built by TWOSCRIPTS LABS INC., an independent app studio. We are not affiliated with The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Creatures Inc., or Game Freak. Pokémon and the TCG name are trademarks of their respective owners.
